Kindergarten and First Grade have been learning números from one to twenty en español! To practice los números, we read Los Mariachis by Rita Rosa Ruesga and listened to traditional Mariachi music from México. How fitting, then, that there is a Mariachi festival this weekend in Oklahoma City!

Kindergarten through Third Grade learned about the different parts of the body! We sang "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes," the Spanish version, and played games and made crafts with our new vocabulary words. Check out the pictures below! Kindergarten and First Grade made "mini-me" paper muñecas and labeled them with the parts of the body to match our song! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxQOHkjuybw Vocabulary: cabeza (head), hombros (shoulders), rodillas (knees), pies (feet), ojos (eyes), orejas (ears), boca (mouth), nariz (nose) Come check our their work in the front stairwell! Second and Third Grade also learned the "Cabeza, Hombros, Rodillas, Pies" song but added some new moves to match their additional vocabulary words! They practiced the words with fun games, such as running dictation, in which students must remember the word, placement, and spelling for a part of the body it to come back and tell their team's writer!
