It was a busy month of September! Students across all grade levels learned the Spanish words for the basic colors and practiced using and comprehending the words, and students in first through third grade learned the names for various animals that they saw at the Oklahoma State Fair. Most excitingly, we started holding the first 15-20 minutes of each class period entirely in Spanish!! Students have learned to pay attention to body language and other cues and to listen for words that they recognize and have been very successful in participating in our all-Spanish portion of class! In October, we will learn the names for various articles of clothing! Kindergarten and First Grade are participating in "Build-an-Oso," becoming designers of clothing for bears. Second and Third Grade will use their clothing vocabulary to design an outfit and put on a fashion show. Look for pictures to come!
